A friend of mine in the marine corps told me he heard Lee Greenwood. the writer singer of God bless the USA was a deserter from the Vietnam war.
I checked it out online . . .it isn't true. he was a father at 17 years of age and that gave him one of the highest lottery numbers so he was never called.
